Young American player Taylor Towsend won singles title in Melbourne beating No 4 seed Yulia Putintseva 6-1; 3-6; 6-3.

 

Australian Open –Melbourne- juniors- Young American player Taylor Towsend won singles title in Melbourne beating No 4 seed Yulia Putintseva 6-1; 3-6; 6-3. She won doubles title with another American player –Gabby Andrews. Only other USA player to win singles and doubles at junior slam was Lindsey Davenport at the US Open ’92.

On the boy’s side homeboy Luke Saville No1 seed, beat in finals Filip Peliwo from Canada in three sets: 6-3; 5-7; 6-4. Team of Great Britain Liam Broad and Joshua Ward Hibbert beat Adam Pavlasek (CZE) and Filip Veger (CRO) in strait sets 6-3; 6-2.
